The studio’s principles honour the tradition of the craft, combining a passion for timeless design with more experimental modern techniques. Respecting the age-old methods with a deep understanding of the process is woven in with a forward thinking, innovative attitude; producing clever versatile collections that respect the heritage of tradition whilst appealing to a modern design aesthetic. With a unique insight into the interiors industry and creative practice, Peter Page is creating a niche in the world of design built on the cornerstones of knowledge and service, offering a truly individual approach to each commission. The team advises interior designers and architects and works collaboratively to provide a tailored and personal complete service — from early project advice to design and installation — ensuring every Peter Page carpet, rug or runner is perfect for the space. The studio team boasts an incredible depth of knowledge, headed by Peter Page and closely supported by Jo Tailby-Stoute. Jo has 25 years experience in the carpet industry, seven of those working alongside Peter during his time as Managing Director at Tim Page Carpets.
The Studio is in a beautiful light-filled showroom in Chelsea Wharf, the perfect place to discover the breadth of product and to explore how colour, texture and fibres can combine. Full of little gems, there is something to tick every aesthetic or material box. The space itself is calm and serene – inviting time and space to make the perfect selection, as well as being the studio’s design hub giving visitors the chance to get the first look in on new products. The designs in the showroom, and they are myriad, fall into four major categories; hand knotted, hand loomed, hand tufted and machine made. The majority of the motifs are designed in house by Peter and Jo, who take their inspiration from a plethora of places. This breath of reference gives the collections a deliciously fresh feel whilst still referencing that traditional heritage.
Peter Page work very closely with their mills and have a condensed and methodical way of working together with the artisans, who now know and respect Peter Page’s unwavering hunt for perfection.
We are really looking forward to welcoming you.
